The Ministry of Social Protection Labour De-partment held a Seminar for Public and Private Sector Organisations on February 8th, 2018. The training session was held in the Ministry’s Boardroom located at 82 Brickdam, Georgetown.
Components of the Seminar were the ‘Leave with Pay Act’ and the ‘National Minimum Wage Order’, facilitated by Attorneys-At-Law Ms. Kimberly Yearwood and Mr. Kevin Morgan.
In his Opening Remarks of the Seminar, Mr. Charles Ogle– Chief Labour Officer urged participants to seeks clarifications on the con-tent of the presentations to be aware of legal guidelines as Employers and employees.
A total of twenty-five participants attended the seminar from organizations such as: Guyana Red Cross Society, Teleperformance, QUAL-FON, St. Ann’s Girls Home, National Commission on Disability; among others.
